A bit about me:We are the Berthrong family, living on a small farm in Oregon City, OR. My name is Moriah, we have four kids, as well as chickens, pigs, cats and of course dogs. Dogs have been a constant in my life, from my childhood Cocker Spaniel to the Irish Setters we got when Alex (my husband) graduated from UC Davis veterinary school; followed by the labs I raised for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Autism Service Dogs of America. When we moved to our farm and saw our neighbors lose livestock to local coyotes we added two Anatolian Shepherds. With them I decided to pursue a dream of showing dogs. I met amazing people but it became clear my dogs just wanted to stay home with their livestock. Thus began the search for a breed that would love training and working with me. After a year of checking out breeds I knew a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever was the breed for me. Ember and I found an outlet for my love of training and spending time in the forest by joining Search and Rescue. We are certified in Human Remains Detection, and members of our county sheriff's office SAR team. In addition Ember also does 4H with my daughter.
